RideDirty privacy policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

RideDirty ("we", "us") is run by Stephen Hogg, doing business as RideDirty, based in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what we collect on goridedirty.com, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version

What we collect

If you just visit the site

We don't ask for anything, and the public pages set no cookies. They also load no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers or analytics.

The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS CloudFront and S3). Like any web server, AWS processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the page.

If you sign up for launch news

When you enter your email and tick the consent box, we store:

We don't store your IP address, your browser details, or anything else about you.

Testers

The "Testers: sign in" area (/app/) is for invited testers only. Signing in there uses Amazon Cognito and sets cookies needed to keep you signed in. If you're not an invited tester, none of that applies to you.

How we use your email

Only to:

  1. send you one email asking you to confirm you want launch news, once we're ready to send email;
  2. tell you when RideDirty launches, and send occasional related updates, if you confirmed.

We never sell your email, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Confirmation and consent

Ticking the box tells us you want launch news. Because anyone could type in someone else's address, the first email we ever send you asks you to confirm. If you don't confirm within 30 days of that email, we delete your address. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.

How long we keep it

We delete your email:

Where it's stored and who can see it

Your sign-up is stored in Amazon Web Services' us-west-2 (Oregon, USA) region, so it's held outside Canada and may be subject to US law. The system that receives sign-ups can only add new addresses; it can't read the list. Only Stephen Hogg can view the list.

Your choices and rights

You can:

We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their email addresses. If you think a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
